Herbert Mehler uses Corten steel to create archaic, original forms up to eight metres high with a modular lamellar structure that sometimes convexly and then concavely blends in perfectly with nature and breathes new life into the theme of steel sculpture. Herbert Mehler uses the repertoire of forms he has developed to realise these in various materials and sizes. Some of the works look like enlarged botanical forms and so the titles such as “Asparagus”, “Zucchina grande” or “Stella della zucca” make you think of vegetables. Only in a simplified, concentrated and artistic form.
